Sunflowers (3-5 years)

At this stage, children continue to develop key self-help skills and are encouraged to grow in independence. This is supported through the use of a self-service snack bar, where children can independently choose from a variety of fresh and dried fruits, salads and drinks during snack time.

Mealtimes are an important part of the day, giving children the opportunity to socialise, share experiences and enjoy conversations with their peers and practitioners.

Children benefit from access to a large, partially sheltered outdoor area, which leads directly onto a secure grassed space with an all-weather sandpit. This environment allows them the freedom to explore, play and learn in a relaxed and stimulating setting.

Throughout the day, children can access a wide range of activities, including sand and water play, dough, painting, sticking, ICT resources, and an extensive selection of construction and small world toys. These experiences support creativity, independence and the development of their growing imaginations.
